DVT/PE Support Group

In 1993 Samuel Z. Goldhaber, MD and Ruth Morrison, RN, CVN started the Pulmonary Embolism Support Group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The purpose of the group is to focus on the unmet emotional needs of patients diagnosed with a PE or DVT, as well as to provide accurate, up-to-date information about this chronic condition. 18 years later, their Support Group has over 160 members and continues to meet every 4 to 6 weeks.
In 2010, work began to replicate this successful Support Groups throughout the United States and Canada. We are thankful and excited that you have decided to help us with this important initiative. We hope this webpage serves as a helpful tool in starting and maintaining your PE/DVT Support Group.
