Proactive Prophylaxis 2007

Our mission is to optimize patient care.  To this end, our program is designed to provide the most up to date information and strategies for physicians and hospital administrators.

On Thursday, February 15, 2007, we will convene our second annual "Proactive Prophylaxis: Multidisciplinary Prevention of Thrombosis," Harvard Medical School CME accredited community event at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

There is no cost to attend this program.

Our 1-day symposium is a comprehensive multidisciplinary overview of current thromboembolism prevention methods geared to Physicians, Nurses, Physicians Assistants, Pharmacists, Hospitalists, and Hospital Administrators.  In addition to health care professionals, patients and caregivers are encouraged to attend. The curriculum will combine review of established principles with state-of-the-art changes and novel concepts in thrombosis prevention.

Specific topics to be covered include: 1) prevention and current perspectives, 2) therapeutic targets and approaches, and 3) focused break out sessions on anticoagulation, patient advocacy, and thrombosis prevention.

A comprehensive syllabus and CD ROM, which include lecture outlines and up-to-date bibliographies, will be available to all course participants. A live DVD will also be produced and made available to attendees after the course.
